Does the posterior hip capsule stretch move the femoral head backwards or forwards in the capsule?
Is that grass inside your gym?
Thanks for this 🤘
Gonna try this today for shoulder day, thank you
Thank you Sir
Great exercise! I’ll have to include this with the team I work with. Thanks for the great content!
Curious on what your cues would be for this one?
💘 Promo_SM!!
We love this workout and want to have our 3 boys do it. What is the name of that machine? We can’t find it anywhere.
Hi Eve - This is Mini-Slide Board, with a resistance band around the foot.
Thank you. Is this something you sell? If so can we get a quote for?
Simple, yet so effective, Thanks for Sharing!
Should his right foot be flat on the ground, maybe toe pressed down, like a stride?
Hi Wayne - Great question. If you think of the end of a forward skating stride, the foot finishes by pushing "away" through the big toe, so an argument could be made to have the foot in a similar position as in the video, but with the ankle plantarflexed (toes further away from shin) and the foot rolled out more with most of the contact through the inside of the big toe. I will cue those ankle movements in different exercises, but for this, where the focus is primarily on getting length through the adductors, I find having the whole inside of the foot in contact with the ground provides a sturdier foundation to pull down through.
SHOWWWWWWWWWW
Ha look at all the dislikes. This is a great exercise. Needy bitches what do you need a step by step guide? Observe.
Thank you!
Nice video. You may also want to checkout the review of hockey training on my blog at *keithreviews. com/hockey-training-review/* Thanks, Rory.
GREAT
Should you be doing this on the left side as well? If not may i ask Why?
there are many more effective ways to foam roll with the atlasfoamroller
Awesome music in the background ;)
Great stuff Kevin, thanks for posting. I started hatha yoga about 6 months ago in an attempt to get better mobility into my 48 year-old hips. I can definitely attest to an improvement in my overall skating.
do you ever do the other side?
Fantastic!
Very cool to see PRI getting some attention.
Hey! I'm Matthew.I did -25 lbs last two months.Open balinal.com
Awesome video, thanks for the post
Excellent presentation Kevin. I wish you lived out here in Vancouver - I'd definitely come in for a consult.
hi, good channel, but I don't understand the process of this one. Can you add some arrows or visual explanations ?
Kevin Be aware that you are not extending to do the pullback motion. As you watch the video watch your low back, start to extend to get shifted into your pelvis. I used to do the same thing. Brent
Great catch! Made the correction. Thanks for pointing that out.
I think you mean femoral head... ?
The video is not very illustrative (neither is the explanatory text).
i dont get it
is it good that I can make it to the blue line in 4-6 strides?
Funny enough I see this video just after being diagnosed with FAI in both legs. This will be added to the workout right away!
Great example of how to injure your knees while slideboarding using terrible technique.
right! There's no rest in this workout and that's why the guy in the middle form is so bad. Also, they dont look like they know how to skate, I haven't used a slide board tho..
ONE LIKE FOR ME IS THE LEAST I CAN DO... NICE PRESENTATION D
What do you mean by "work"? These exercises are commonly used by physical therapists working with athletes with pelvic instabilities (e.g. SI joint/pubic symphysis issues) that can refer to the "groin" area.
Utgorn-I don't recommend individuals with this structure squat at all. Theoretically, squatting to just above your own individual end-range could be safe, but odds are once you start pushing the weight you're going to be tempted to push through it and that's when problems get worse. Also, in most cases there are other underlying issues with regards to hip position and structural stiffness that make squatting properly extremely tough. Stick with single-leg stuff!
great exercise but need to teach kids to open their hips. watch a skater that has balance and proper hip movement. His knee ends up over his toe at the end of the board and his body hovers in the athletic position to allow the athlete maximum absorption into the hip not the knee or ankle. Straight legged like these young athletes are doing is asking for disaster they need to learn to walk before they can run.
I just got back from the doctor and I have a cam hip impingment. My squats also tend to look like this -_-. What is your suggestion for working through it. No squatting until after recovery from surgery?
Wicked deceleration training. Gaudsy gets more vertical than Lee Majors!
To mimic the external load and respiratory obstruction of hockey equipment.
Very similar but with more of a hip hinge and less knee flexion on the front leg.
We don't test immediately before and immediately after a phase of this type of jumping. Even if we did, it'd be tough to isolate the effects of these jumps relative to the rest of the program. Sounds like a good project for a researcher!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Surgery helps in a lot of circumstances, and doesn't in others. It's really individual and depends on whether or not the necessary rehabilitation and movement adaptations are made post-surgery.
If you twist the bands once they won't move as much.
Our facility Endeavor Sports Performance is located in Pitman, NJ, about 20 minutes East of Philadelphia.
good workout, but I find it kind of difficult to keep the straps planted to my back. but yeah it works the core and chest/shoulders/arms reallly well
Explosiveness !!!
